Paper, Paper, and More Paper!!!

So on The Greeting Farm blog today, Marie asked the question....How do you store paper. It just so happens I spent Mother's Day organizing my stuff and reminding myself of what I had. What I have is WAY too much paper!! But anyway, I digress... I was able to get these grey totes from my mother's hardware store. They fit my paper perfect so that they stand up and I can flip thru them. I sorted them out by coordinating sheets into 12X12 ziplock bags (I purchased them at clearbags.com). I also have somepage kits and all my Christmas Papers in one of those rolling trays with the 5 clear bins in them - I told you I had too much!!

For my small papers I have them in one of those stacker containers. Here are some pics!

Birthday Girl!

Here is my big girl on her big day! We had so much fun! Nick and Charli made rainbow cupcakes the night before the party. On the day of her party each guest had an apron, a chef hat (handmade from tissue and posterboard), and a plate of decorations ~ they each decorated their own chef hat and cupcake! They also got to decorate 3 sugar cookies...all which got put in a cute cupcake box to take home with them. They all did such a great job!

A little late in posting but here is a picture of the Cupcake Card invites I made for Charli's 7th Birthday. I made it an easel card. It was so fun to do! Since I had to make so many I colored one image ~Freaky Flutter from TGF~ scanned and printed it up. (I also used it for thank you cards).

Fresh Brewed Designs Blog Hop Today!

Today I am participating in my dear friend's blog hop for her digital stamp company Fresh Brewed Designs. When I got the images so much ran through my head. These new images can be used for so many things, not just cards. Unfortunately I only had time to make 2 cards. I plan to use more of the images to make recipe cards and scrapbook pages!

This second card I made with the "Want Fries With That Shake" image. As soon as I seen this one I thought of a birthday party at McDonalds. It would be a great image for invitations or scrap page of a burger party! Too cute!

It has been a busy week over here. I am currently planning a birthday party for my daughter, trying to get crafts finished for a craft show that I am doing in April, spring cleaning for a garage sale at our local trade center, and then a sudden death of a dear family friend. We will miss you dearly Brian - love to his family and my best friend!

On a better note, I finally got to go see Alice in Wonderland. Even in crazy MadHatter get up, my boyfriend Johnny is so handsome! I really enjoyed this movie, it was pretty darn good! I ate WAY too much popcorn and soda though...I don't think I will weigh in tomorrow, lol! And that being said leads me to my title! Tomorrow there is some hopping to be had and it shall be yummilicious!! See you in the morning. Have a great night. Go to bed early to catch up on your time change! Goodnight all!

Sweet Sketch for a Wedding

I had a request for a wedding card so I used this sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday to make it. I loved the layout of this sketch and knew it would be perfect for an easel card. I used my SU Blooming w/Happiness stamp set with miscellaneous card stock. I colored the image with my KohINoor pencils and OMS, then topped it off with Stickles, ribbon, and bling.

Since I have been under the weather the last few days...I have been told to relax today! Hubby and kids are gone, so what better way to relax than to craft? So I chose to do the Farm Fresh Friday Color Challenge at The Greeting Farm. The color palette was Chocolate, Kraft, and Guava. I found the colors in my paper pile and found the perfect image! This was such a fun card and I love how it turned out.

Glittery Dahlia!

I made this cute card with the Dahlia Stamp from The Greeting Farm. I love coloring her. I used my Koh I Nor pencils and blended them with OMS. I used the skin copic for her skin, and stickles for the sparkles! For the sentiment, I used a random clear stamp that I had. TFL!

2010 is finally here! I hope this year brings you all health & happiness!

Once I cleared up all the confetti, I decided it was time to make some cards! This first card is made with an image from my dear friend Heather's shop ~ Fresh Brewed Designs. She just released some 15 new images, and they are all soooo cute!

Then I decided to make these ~ a set of 8 Valentines Day cards. These were so much fun to make. I used K&Company stickers and papers. Then I used an old CTMH stamp set for the sentiment. I used Cocoa to stamp with then applied a cherry glitter to it. I just love how they came out!

Altered Frame

It is a little 'altering 101' but I love the clean and simple look. This is a wood frame that I purchased at Hobby Lobby, I used Zip Dry glue to adhere CS to it. The Cardstock is from Nana's Stack by DCWV. Used some ribbon, inked up a chipboard letter, and used the cricut to make the other letters. Simple and fun...I just love it.

Monkeys! Oh My!

With a lil help from my Missy I got 100 Changito Monkeys colored, cut, and mounted on a square scallop to make a Christmas Tag. I used Bic Mark Its and brown ink around the edges.

This is another card I have done for the shows. I used an images given to me by my good friend Dee. This is from Stamping Bella ~ ChristmasTini. I just love the way this card sparkles...much better in person.

Halloween Treat Bags for Charli Ann's Classmates.

The image is a Penny Black Stamp that I colored with my Bic Mark It Markers, attached to cardstock and attached to a ziplock bag of treats.

Trick or Treat Cheese Please!

This image is a digital image purchased from The Greeting Farm website. I just love her...she is so sweet. I colored this image with my Koh I Noor colored pencils and Mark It Markers. I stickled the dots around the image and placed on card using Debbie Mumm Cardstock.

TGIF!! I am so glad that this week is over and the weekend is here. I am excited to see The Thunderbirds from the airshow and Armada Fair on Sunday! Here is the card I made last night for a Sketch Challenge on CafeMom. I used Hula Anya from my newest stamp addiction site - The Greeting Farm! I received this image from an image swap and used papers from the Citrus DCWV stack. I colored the image with my Bic's and skin Copic.

I am so sorry I have been MIA. I have to admit I have a Facebook addiction that has taken over me...but mainly, I have been so busy and unorganized in life that I have not been able to update. I am going to make a good faith effort this week to update this and get this going.

Last week I was lucky enough to find this great listing on Craigslist for some free scrapbook stuff. The listing was right in my neighborhood so I figured if even it was just one thing that I could use it was worth it. Well, it was all wonderful and I will so be able to use it all - and it is even more perfect that I have my Scrapbook Weekend coming up! She made my day again when she sent me a note stating she had some paper if I wanted. This girl is my saving grace!! The papers were AMAZING. Anyway, I digress...I made her this journal book as a token of my thanks, I hope she likes it as it is all I can do for her right now!

Time is flying by...

I am unsure what happens to my days lately. The last 3 weeks we have been dealing with colds, sinus headaches, ear infections, and that nasty high fever virus that is going around. In the mist of all this my baby girl turned 6! I just can not believe how big she is. Charli Ann is the love of my life, I can't imagine my world without her in it and I am so glad she is mine! She is getting so smart and just so creative every day. Right now as I write this she and her dad are making ice cream with her ice cream maker that she got as a present.

We have been planning for what seems like a year for her birthday party. We decided to do a Carnival Theme for her party. Nick made an awesome Plinko game that got rave reviews! We also had Monster Basketball, Ring Toss, Bean Bag Toss, and a Duck Pond Game. All the games revolved around Charli turning 6 - so the kids had to score 6 points on the games to win a prize.

Then we had cake and ice cream and Charli got to open up all her presents. Her friends outdid themselves in this area - we are truly blessed! Here are some pictures of our day... sadly I have none of Nick dressed up as a clown...I am unsure how I missed getting that!!

I don't have any new pictures this go around...just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I am certainly looking forward to this new year. With the holidays finally behind us I can't wait to clean up and get back to scrapping. My mom and I have been trying to re- arrange the basement area to make it "liveable" for us. I want the kids to be able to play while I scrap...sounds simple, but it takes a lot of effort - especially with my boy! Anywho...I hope to start some Valentines Day projects here shortly. Will post as soon as I get something done!

The first picture is Charli with her school mascot "Sharky". Conner was terrified of him (not sure why a 2 foot tall person would be scared of a 10 foot shark??) so I had to take him home. I was crazy slow for my craft show, I did not make enough to buy Charli Ann a Wii but oh well! It was a learning experience and a heck of a lot more fun to make the stuff than to sit there and have no one there to buy! Any who, here are the pictures of what I had going on.

Charli and Conner Update

I'm back!! I have been so busy lately with the holidays and getting stuff together for this big craft show we have in a few weeks.

It feels as though I am spending my days chasing a 2 year old boy around....oh wait I HAVE! Conner has become such an active and destructive lil man - but I love him dearly! My mom watches him on the days that I work and she never complains one bit about it...except last Wednesday. She calls me up at work asking if I was on my way home yet, she was done. Hmmm, he had to have been real bad for her. I walk in the door, she has her coat on and says "have fun! So I scoop up Conner and we wave goodbye to grandma. I turn and set him down, and what do I see??? A DVD in the fish tank! "CONNER, what did you do today??" he says to me "bad...pank butt". Yep, I am sure you were bad and I need to spank your butt! *sigh* I can't believe he will be 2 this month - it goes by so fast. Papa is amazed daily by all the new words he says. He is clearly forming sentences and telling stories. He can read his 'first word' books to me...more of a picture book, but he names all the stuff in it. My favorite thing he says right now is "fun". He will climb up on the living room table and jump to the couch and say "fun" and giggle. He will chase the poor dog around and say "fun".

Charli Ann on the other hand is doing wonderful in school. We had our first progress report and teacher conference last month. Charli is getting the whole learning thing and how! I am amazed daily by the things she learns and retains. She and Nick were making Rice Krispy Treats together and her job was to mix the chocolate and regular ones together. She measured out 2 cups of the regular and 1 cup of the chocolate and put them in a container. While she was shaking up the mixture, she looked at daddy and said "daddy, did you know that 'shaking' is an action word?" Anyway, her teacher let us know that she is above average on most everything. She has moved up 2 levels already in reading and has almost completed the third, which is 1st grade level. She counts to 100+ by 1's and 10's & is close to getting it by 2's and 5's. Thanks to all the fun songs in her class, we all know how to spell colors :) I am very proud of how much she enjoys school.

That is my lil update on us. I will post my craft chaos tomorrow for you all to see, I know you are just sooo anxious to see it all! haha!

1st Day of School!

Can you believe it! Charli Ann is off to Kindergarten! She has been so anxious this weekend asking me a ton of questions about school. She has been telling EVERYONE about school...I was afraid she was going to start her normal "freaking out" once we got out to the bus stop. That was not the case. She hollered down the street to another boy waiting "Hey, I am waiting for the Apple bus!" He yelled back "You are on the Apple bus too??"

Grandma Butler & Papa Schuchard came by to wave to Charli as she left on the bus.

I followed the bus like any neurotic mother would! I stood back though and let the teachers do their thing. They got the kids off the buses, and to the teachers with no problems. It is like they have done this before! Who knew!!

So now I am home, pacing the house wondering what to do til 4pm! Conner is in heaven...he gets to play with all the toys without his sister taking them from him. I guess I can clean or something huh?

I have a craft swap in one of my groups in CafeMom. Although it is late, I think it will be worth it. I really loved this project and can not wait to make some more for my friends! I still need to make some inserts for the planner. I will put a decorated envelope for receipts, a checklist for cards mailed out, and some decorated papers for lists.
